In exceptionally difficult circumstances, France evacuated nearly 3,000 people, in addition to the nearly 1,500 Afghans who worked for our country that we had already sheltered before August 15 in anticipation of the current crisis. . The team from the French Embassy in Kabul joined Abu Dhabi before returning to France. Our diplomats, soldiers, police officers and all the State services concerned, in Kabul, Abu Dhabi and Paris, mobilized relentlessly to carry out these evacuation operations and to protect thousands of people and us. thank them.France thanks the United Arab Emirates for their support in this complex operation, as well as its allies, especially the Americans, who played a crucial role in securing the airport and whose armed forces paid a heavy price yesterday. We pay tribute to them. France will always stand alongside the Afghans. Our efforts continue. France will continue, by all possible means, its work to protect those who are threatened, including after August 31. To this end, we will continue our efforts with the Taliban officials to ensure that they will not put any hindrance after August 31 on the departure of those who so wish. » Source : French Foreign Affairs Ministry
